SCIENCE FICTION AT THE MYSTERIOUS SHED
Science Fiction writing is housed in The Mysterious Shed in Bickering on Sea. It’s rumoured to be the site of many strange and unexplained goings on, but it is actually the site of Professor Bilman’s laboratory. If you love science fiction, whether you want to write it or read it, then this is a webpage worth investigating.
There are already some Science Fiction short stories on the shelves of the Mysterious Shed, but there is always room for more. If you would like to contribute and Science Fiction themed short story, poem, or any other kind of writing, we would love to hear from you. Simply take a look at the Contributions page to find out how.
Feel free to browse the page, read some of the stories, and please let us know what you think or, even better, let us have some of your work to share with other visitors to Bickering on Sea.
Below is a letter written by Professor Bilman’s most trusted assistant, Dr Eric Gore.
Dear visitor,
Do not take your visit to the Mysterious Shed lightly… it is the venue for Science Fiction writing in Bickering on Sea, but what some would call science fiction, I call science fact. Anything is possible if you have the imagination and drive, and my most esteemed employed, Professor Bilman has already achieved unbelievable things in his garden laboratory.
On the shelves above his workbench are many stories, but I'm told that the Parish Council of Bickering on Sea invite new contributions from interested writers all over the world. Some use my own dear Professor Bilman as inspiration, but other invent new story lines. The only limitation is imagination!
For information about contributing your own content to Bickering on Sea, follow the link to the Contributions Page.
As the Professor’s most trusted assistant I want to make clear that rumours relating to the existence of alternate dimensions, explosions, and visitors from other realms, are nothing more than the paranoid ramblings of the unenlightened. Professor Bilman is a supremely gifted scientist and engineer, who seeks to make this world, and others, better.
There have even been rumours relating to the disappearance of a young Explorer Scout. There is no evidence whatsoever that John Smith disappeared through an interdimensional portal, and any suggestion of such might be met with a swift and merciless response from Professor Bilman’s legal team.
Yours,
Dr Eric Gore
Personal Assistant to Prof. R Bilman
